Echoes in Time

In this culminating concert of Notable’s Her Story series, we welcome a remarkable new voice: the young Romanian pianist-composer Cristiana Achim. In a programme that is rich with reflection and resonance, past and present meet in dialogue.

From the pioneering brilliance of Clara Schumann, to the shimmering parallels of Liszt and Ravel’s Jeux d’eau, to Achim’s own deeply personal works inspired by Romanian folklore, this recital traces a lineage of artistry shaped across time. The journey culminates in Liszt’s electrifying Mephisto Waltz once the preserve of legendary virtuosi, now reimagined with fearless ease by a new generation.

The afternoon opens with an introductory talk by Notable’s Artistic Director Pavel Timofeyevsky, reflecting on the journey of Her Story, and concludes with a live on-stage conversation between Pavel and Cristiana.

A celebration not only of history but of its continuation.
