This concert will explore the deep connection between composer Johannes Brahms and violinist Joseph Joachim that not only shaped their lives but also left a profound impact on late 19th century European classical music.
At the heart of the concert lies Brahms’s lyrical Sonata Op. 78 in G Major for violin and piano and the spirited Scherzo from the F-A-E* Sonata.
As a vibrant counterpoint to the music and story of Brahms this programme will also feature some fiery and dramatic works from other masters of the violin and piano repertoire: Ravel’s passionate Tzigane, Moszkowski’s playful Guitarre, Debussy’s dynamic Sonata and Elgar’s tender Salut d’Amour.
Join us for an intimate evening of virtuosic performance, compelling storytelling, and a celebration of artistry, passion, and friendship. Don’t miss this exceptional collaboration between two world-class musicians in Irmina and Pavel.
*FAE - Frei Aber Einsam translates as Free But Lonely, a motto the two men shared.
